Adopt an older dog...

Last Hope currently has many dogs that are 6 and up. So many times these 4-legged friends are overlooked for puppies and younger dogs. You shouldn’t be afraid to look at these:

They are Addie, Outlaw, Sage, Ole and Lena, Heidi, Dolly, Mindy, Daisy, Maizie, Outlaw, and Shiloh!! We have Yorkies, Labs, Shepherds, Rat Terriers, and Maltese. Bishons that are older than 6 that need you!

Why should you adopt an older dog?

Their personalities are formed and what you see is what you get. They will only bond more and more over time. No surprises as puppies can be!!
You know the size that they will be as an adult because they are full grown.
The big dogs are housebroken and do not need to be crated. Big dogs live until 12-14 years old.
The little dogs that are 6 and up can live another 10 years or more. Do you know what you will be doing in 10 years?
They are mellow. No jumping around, knocking you over and scaring your guests!
They are not chewers. No teeth marks in chews, furniture and torn up pillows!
They walk super nice on a leash and won’t pull you down the street.
They are all cuddlers… everyone appreciates hugs and kisses and want to be with you. They'd rather be with you than playing and playing and playing and playing!
They don’t go thru doggie toys and you don’t have to set aside lots of money for new ones each week.
They are already current with shots, spayed or neutered. Your responsibility is annual shots and heartworm preventative like all dogs do.
They are great companions for older couples and townhouses and condos and don’t need fenced in yards!
