Last Hope Stories of Hope
2/9/07
There are a lot of things you can find on the side of a highway such as old pop cans, cigarette wrappers, diapers, just various kinds of garbage. Unfortunately garbage is not the only thing that can be found out there. One woman who was doing Adopt A Highway found a black puppy, which later was named Disney and brought into Last Hope’s care. Jen (Disney’s foster) traveled 40-50 miles to pick her up. When Jen first held Disney she was the size of her hand. Jen brought Disney to our local vet Southview and they had her checked. They couldn’t make an actual guess of her breed do to the age and size but figured it was black lab with a wrinkled muzzle. For every dark hair she had a light one. When Jen brought her home she and her family quickly realized that Disney craved attention. Disney didn’t want to be put down and cried for two nights until she realized she was in a safe loving place. According to Jen, Disney loved to be held in a blanket and Jen’s son Andrew took a special liking to Disney and claimed her “his” dog and took care of her the most. When Disney got to Jen’s house right away she ate hard dog food. Jen and her family members took turns holding and cradling her as if she was a baby. After about 6 ½ weeks Jen finally found a perfect home for Disney, which she is currently still living in.
